Watch the chefs in action.
What a wonderful experience you gain when watching owner and head pastry chef Geoffrey, and his three apprentices turn raw product into the amazingly individual works of cake-art right before your eyes at Geoffrey Michael Patissier.
You can enjoy your coffee with a selection of the mini gateaux, tarts, pastries or macarons, whilst watching the chefs in action in the kitchen through the large glass window. A perfect spot to keep the kids (and many adults) amused.
It doesn’t hinder the activity in the kitchen, Geoffrey and his team are so obviously enthusiastic and passionate about their craft. The GMP branded chocolate drops provide their own stamp of authenticity, to the creation of the Border Brownie, a sumptuous layered brownie named after its region, or maybe try the Miss Albury Strawberry, the options are plentiful!
Each day there is a varied selection of desserts to choose from, as well as an array of macarons, pastries, croissants, quiches and gourmet pies.
If around on a Saturday, you cannot possibly resist popping in to see what the Geoff-Nut flavour will be! Might it be Bubble O’Bree (in honour of a staff member’s birthday), or a Gaytime, or a pimped up Snowball…the Geoff-Nut is a mind-blowing experience, best savoured slowly and without guilt!!
With its French inspired café, located at the Botanical Gardens end of Dean Street this is truly a must do destination.
About the Pâtissier
Geoffrey Michael Dimitrovski, the Pâtissier, is a local boy through and through! He was born and bred in Albury Wodonga; went to school at Albury High; played rugby for the Southern Rams. Geoffrey gained his experience at many fine 5 Star resorts and Patisseries throughout Australia including Hayman Island Resort.
Geoffrey’s gâteaux are more than just cakes; they are amazing individual works of art. Geoffrey prides himself on his finished product, painstakingly applying elaborate garnish including gold and silver leaf for that “wow factor” visual appeal. While working in many prestigious hotels, Geoffrey prepared elaborate and decadent desserts and gâteaux for celebrities, movie stars and dignitaries. His passion is to offer the same high quality and innovation to customers in his own pâtisserie, right here in Albury Wodonga.
Geoffrey is committed to his trade and the advancement of Patisserie. The National Skill Needs List identifies Pastry Chef as a traditional trade experiencing a national skills shortage. Geoffrey is doing his bit to overcome this shortage by training a new wave of Pastry Chefs in the true tradition of French Patisserie.
