Murray River Experience

Murray River, Albury City Council, Australia

Head to Noreuil Park in Albury for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, bike riding or just relaxing on the riverbank. It’s the perfect place to unwind with breakfast at River Deck Café, lunch under the shade of old gum trees or a barbecue dinner as the sun sets over the water. Kids will love the nearby Oddies Creek Playspace, a modern and fully-fenced playground with a flying fox and plenty of things to climb up, under and around.

For those who prefer to experience the water up close, just contact Murray River Canoe Hire. David will meet you at the river with canoes ready to hire for any sized group; with half day, full day and multiday options to choose from. You might prefer to bring your own tube and float along like the locals do! During Summer, hop aboard the Sienna Daisy for a leisurely river cruise.

The Murray also offers a tranquil background for riverside walks. Meander along the trail and stop at Gateway Island to watch the amazing bird life or visit Gateway Village’s art galleries. Take the 6.5km Wagirra Trail, or experience some outdoor culture with the fascinating Yindyamarra Indigenous Sculpture Walk which leads to the natural sanctuary of the Wonga Wetlands.
