Meet the Business Owner: Simone Bowler from Healthfocus Physiotherapy

Simone’s story is one of passion, family, and a commitment to helping others live healthier lives. As a long-time Albury local and trusted physiotherapist, she’s built a practice that’s all about community, and care.

AlburyCBD: Tell us a little about yourself. What’s something about you people might not know?

Simone: I am a mum to three beautiful boys and love spending time outdoors with them and my husband. I originally came to Albury Wodonga to study physiotherapy and quickly fell in love with everything the area has to offer. I’m passionate about helping people achieve their health and lifestyle goals. Something a lot of people might not know is that I have a twin sister who is also a physiotherapist!

AlburyCBD: Tell us about Healthfocus Physiotherapy. What’s your why, and what do you love about running your business?

Simone: Healthfocus Physiotherapy has been part of the Border region for over 50 years. We’re a family-owned practice, passionate about helping people of all ages achieve their best health and movement. I love listening to people’s stories, understanding their ‘why’, and working alongside them to reach their goals. It’s such a privilege to play a small part in someone’s journey, whether it’s helping them move around their home pain-free or supporting them to run an ultramarathon. I also enjoy the ongoing challenge of improving our business for our team and the wider community.

AlburyCBD: What’s a challenge you’ve had to overcome in business?

Simone: Navigating self-doubt and finding the confidence to lead the business with my husband has been a challenge. Making big decisions, adapting to change, and striving to bring out the best in our team and profession all take courage, but I’ve learned a lot along the way.

AlburyCBD: What would you be doing if you weren’t running Healthfocus Physiotherapy?

Simone: I’ve wanted to be a physiotherapist since I was a child, so I feel incredibly grateful to do what I love every day. One day, I’d love to travel and volunteer in a third-world pelvic health or fistula clinic, to help improve the quality of life for women in those communities.

AlburyCBD: What do you love about being in the Albury CBD?

Simone: We love the sense of community in the Albury CBD, the vibrant cafés, restaurants, and retailers, and having all of these right at our doorstep.
