Albury Tigers Netballers Kick Off the #PLEDGE to Back Albury’s CBD retailers
ALBURY, NSW – A significant new community pilot initiative is set to revitalise the local economy as Albury CBD launches the #PLEDGE campaign in 2026. Designed to support the ongoing resilience of our city centre, the campaign ensures that local funding goes directly back into the hands of the small businesses that define our region.
The initiative is powered by the new Albury CBD Gift Card program, a state-of-the-art chip card that 100% guarantees an injection of funding into the local economy. Leading the charge as the first community group to make the #PLEDGE are the Albury Tiger Netballers. As part of an exciting new Ambassador program, the netballers have committed to “shopping the CBD’s beating heart,” using their platform to encourage locals to back locally owned and operated “bricks and mortar” businesses.
“This campaign is about leveraging the incredible loyalty of our local community to make a tangible difference”, said Glen Robinson, General Manager Albury Business Connect. “By seeing our Albury Tiger Netballers out in the CBD, sharing their shopping experiences and tagging their favourite local spots, we’re creating a digital community that celebrates the best of Albury.”
The partnership also aligns with the Albury Tigers’ 150th Anniversary celebrations (Project 150). In honour of this milestone, Albury CBD is aiming to grow the number of local businesses participating in the gift card program to 150 Albury CBD businesses, ensuring shoppers have more variety than ever before.
Albury CBD will seek to invite all local community and arts organisations to follow the lead of the Albury Tiger Netballers and make the #PLEDGE to support our local economy.
Join us for a night of celebration as we officially launch AlburyCBD’s #PLEDGE campaign.
