Meet the Business Owners: Jen, Bec & Kate Mamouney from The Chocolate Labrador

AlburyCBD: Tell us a little about yourself. What’s something about you people might not know?

Chocolate Labrador: We’re three sisters, Jen, Bec, and Kate, who started our chocolate journey together 10 years ago. Not everyone realises our background is in public relations, or that we spent 28 years managing the local swim centres before diving into the world of chocolate.

AlburyCBD: Tell us about the business. What’s your why, and what do you love about running your business?

Chocolate Labrador: After retiring from the swim scene, we wanted to stay together and do something that brought people joy. That’s how The Chocolate Labrador came to be. A spot filled with warmth, good coffee, and plenty of chocolate. Albury didn’t have a place quite like it, so we set out to create somewhere cosy for people to meet and enjoy a treat. The best part is the regulars who have become dear friends, each bringing their own story through our doors.

AlburyCBD: What’s a challenge you’ve had to overcome in business?

Chocolate Labrador: Like many small businesses, keeping afloat during tough economic times has been a real challenge.

AlburyCBD: What would you be doing if you weren’t in this role?

Chocolate Labrador: Honestly, we haven’t thought too much about anything else! It would have to be something similar. As long as we’re up and about, surrounded by lovely people, we’re happy.

AlburyCBD: What do you love about being in the Albury CBD?

Chocolate Labrador: We love the energy of the city centre and meeting people from all walks of life. There’s always something happening and new faces to welcome.
