AMP Lane set for creative takeover celebrating 30 years of regional creativity.
Albury’s AMP Lane is set to come alive with colour, creativity and community spirit as Murray Arts prepares to deliver Blank Canvas – A Vibrant Takeover of AMP Lane, a free, all-ages creative celebration marking 30 years of championing regional arts.
Taking place on Saturday, 31 October 2026, from 10am to 3pm, Blank Canvas will transform AMP Lane into an interactive creative precinct, inviting locals and visitors to explore, experiment and connect through a diverse program of artistic activities, music, storytelling and hands-on making.
The event also marks the continuation of the exciting community partnership between Murray Arts and Albury CBD, strengthening the connection between the region’s creative community and the businesses, spaces and experiences that make the city centre thrive.
The partnership recognises the important role that creative economy plays in creating vibrant, welcoming city centres, encouraging people to spend time in local precincts, and discovering new reasons to visit, connect and return.
“Blank Canvas came about as a way to encourage everyone in our community to discover their inner creative,” Murray Arts Executive Director Lauren Black said. “We’re thrilled to be working with Albury CBD again and that the local businesses were also keen to support the event.”
Designed to be welcoming, accessible and fun, Blank Canvas invites people of all ages and artistic abilities to participate. Visitors can contribute to a collaborative community mural, create artworks for a pop-up exhibition, join a weaving circle, experiment with recycled materials, add to an evolving story on shopfront windows, decorate sweet treats and make their own colourful paper-flower bouquets.
Albury CBD Chair Amanda Ward said it was great to have another opportunity for the two organisations to work together, “We want people to bring their family and friends, explore the laneway, engage with local businesses and enjoy our city centre for the day.”
The program will also feature Halloween-inspired trinket making and a community singalong at Temperance & General at midday. For Murray Arts, the event is also an opportunity to celebrate three decades of supporting regional artists, strengthening creative industries, and advocating for the value of arts and culture across the Murray region.
“There are really no rules or expectations, just come and have fun, try something new and enjoy adding your unique mark to our “Blank Canvas”.
