Celebrate local with District Dining Bar and Grill’s new menu this spring

Light pours through the floor-to-ceiling windows framing District Dining Bar and Grill’s bar and dining room area. Located in the lobby of the Mantra Albury Hotel, District Dining is all about working with local suppliers to create a bespoke menu with broad appeal while celebrating the excellent produce the Albury region has on offer.

“We use local dairy, meat, and fruit and vegetable suppliers and incorporate it into what we sell,” explains general manager Imalka Maddumapatabendi.

With its new menu launched in late October, District Dining is shifting the focus away from hearty and warming meals, taking its cues from the change in weather. Vibrant, fresh and light are the driving themes, with seasonal produce featured across the entire menu. The full bar offers a selection of local craft beer, wine and cocktails.

“It’s [The Albury region] is an amazingly rich area for agriculture and produce. There’s so much on offer for wine, meats, and vegetables. It’s all fresh and world-class. Our wine list celebrates what we have in the Rutherglen area, like Campbells, DeBortoli, Pfeifer’s and Pizzini,” Imalka said.

Imalka says one of the biggest misconceptions about District Dining is that the bar and restaurant are only for guests. With its central location in Albury CBD, District Dining is a great place to start your night before heading to a movie or the Albury Entertainment Centre. If you’re more of a morning person, there is a full buffet breakfast seven days a week, including public holidays.
