Celebrating our Shop-a-Local Winners

2026 Shop-a-Local campaign has ended after eight wonderful weeks and the heart of Albury LGA is beating a little stronger thanks to everyone who joined in.

With 470+ local purchases and over 100 participating businesses, the LGA was filled with community spirit and local love.

Congratulations to Sam’s Family Cafe, winner of the $2,000 Priceline Pharmacy Albury Business Cash Prize. With 52 entries, Sam’s Family Cafe proved just how much locals appreciate friendly faces and a welcoming space in the LGA.

“Winning the Priceline Pharmacy Albury Business Cash Prize helped us buy new uniforms for our team and is a huge help for our small business”, says Sam Coe, owner of Sam’s Family Cafe.

Their customers showed up week after week, turning every coffee and meal into a potential win whilst supporting a small business.

A huge prize up for grabs, a massive shout-out goes to Patrick Cartwright, winner of our Telstra $5,000 Cash Jackpot. Patrick shopped at SportsPower Albury and took home the major prize.

A true sports lover and the face behind Good Games Tennis in Jindera, his coaching programs are open to all ages and abilities, making tennis accessible and fun for everyone.

“This cash prize is going straight into growing my tennis business,” says Patrick.

A wonderful sentiment in keeping money circulating in our community, supporting small businesses in places like Jindera and helping our region grow.

Congratulations to our $250 Hume Bank Weekly Good Deeds winners Laken H, shopped at Who What Why, Robyn D, shopped at Regent Cinemas, Emma M, shopped at Sam’s Family Cafe, Alana S, shopped at Who What Why, Rhys C, shopped at Sam’s Family Cafe, Fiona M, shopped at Earth to Life, Sue K, shopped at Lighting Bonanza, Kimone H, shopped at Vivienne Cate.

Throughout Shop-a-Local, we saw the best of Albury LGA families, friends, and business neighbours getting behind local shops, cafes, and professional services.

“Shop-a-Local is about coming together and backing the businesses that make Albury LGA special,” says Glen Robinson, General Manager at Albury Business Connect. “Every local purchase keeps our community strong.”

The campaign was all about making daily choices that keep money in our community.

Thank you to everyone who took part, from shoppers to business owners and all our wonderful sponsors—AlburyCity, Albury Business Connect, Telstra Albury, Hume Bank, Priceline Pharmacy Albury and Kwik Kopy Albury. Your support made it all possible.

We can’t wait to do it all again in 2027.
