Sen Fine Dining Offers An Experience Like No Other

Step into Sen Fine Dining, and you’re welcomed into a beautiful world rich with Vietnamese culture and character.

Owned by the duo Lewis and Helen Nguyen, this restaurant captures the flavours of Vietnam. The menu crafted by head chef Ninh Tran features dishes made from different regions in Vietnam using quality local produce blended with Vietnamese herbs and spices. Lewis shares, “All of our elements, such as sauces and gravies, are homemade. We’re sourcing quality local produce and combining that with Vietnamese spices and herbs to make it authentic.”

The quality of the food and style of serving is at a different level, you’ll find popular dishes such as pho [Vietnamese beef noodle soup], where the beef broth is slow cooked for eight hours.

An atmosphere full of Vietnamese heritage and culture, be taken into a world full of Vietnamese character and charm.

Sen also features a list of signature cocktails compiled by front-of-house manager Ben Pham, including a Pho Negroni. Many of the beverages are named after members of the Nguyen family.

Adding another layer to the dining experience is a stunning mural located just outside the restaurant. Created in collaboration with local artist Kristina Greenwood, the mural is a beautiful representation of Vietnamese culture and symbolism. Lewis, Helen, and their team worked closely with Kristina throughout the creative process to ensure that it reflects the essence of their vision.

The centrepiece of the mural is the lotus flower, or “Sen” in Vietnamese and surrounding are eight coi fish, which represent luck and prosperity.

The mural transitions into a captivating 3D street scene that allows onlookers to experience the essence of Vietnam as if stepping into another world.

Using over 100 reference photos of the country to ensure authenticity, including painting real people in the images. The mural features iconic landmarks from both the north and south of Vietnam, forming a narrative that weaves together the architectural grandeur of Hoi An, the beauty of Ha Long Bay, and the energy of Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City, One Pillar Pagoda and Cau Pagoda. Each element is designed to celebrate Vietnam’s heritage.

Creating this mural was a collaborative journey that took Kristina roughly three months along with insights from Rita Worboys, a fellow artist.

To achieve the perspective and straight lines on the textured wall, Kristina used a 15-meter piece of string with a weight, where every detail was painted by hand using high-quality, UV-resistant exterior latex paint.
