Meet Michelle Gilchrist from Embrace Education Services: Embrace Education Services is on a mission to transform how the world views neurodiverse children. Our approach is not just about education and intervention, it's about changing perspectives. We believe every child should feel safe and comfortable in embracing their true selves. Our services focus on providing a nurturing environment where children can flourish and thrive. Embrace is dedicated to delivering individualised interventions and support, celebrating each child's uniqueness and empowering children, their families and support networks to recognise and harness their distinct strengths. We are advocating for a world where each child is understood, celebrated and embraced. Our tailored approach includes comprehensive assessments, individualised interventions, and advocacy support to ensure each child not only meets, but exceeds their developmental milestones. Over my 14+ year journey as an educator I have witnessed how traditional systems of education often fail to meet the needs of every child, especially those who learn differently. My journey to founding Embrace Education Services began early in 2023 with my own child's experiences in the school system. When my 6-year-old was having difficulties at school, it became clear that his unique learning style wasn't fully understood or supported within the traditional educational framework. Navigating the diagnosis process was an eye-opener — it highlighted a significant gap in services and support for neurodiverse children in the Albury - Wodonga region. Faced with these challenges, I felt a strong call to action. I envisioned a place where neurodiverse children and their families could feel affirmed, understood and supported. A service that didn't just offer assessments, education and intervention, but provided personalised advocacy and support, tailored to each child's individual needs. As a new business owner and parent, balancing the demands of running a business, along with personal responsibilities has been a challenge to say the least. Successfully managing this dual role will continue to be an evolving journey as the demands of both roles change over time. What makes Embrace Education Services uniquely exciting is the heart of our mission: to embrace each child for their unique strengths. This business is not just a service, it's a personal commitment to changing the worlds perspective in understanding and supporting neurodiversity. What sets us apart is our personalised approach. We don't offer one-size-fits-all solutions; instead we focus on individualised strategies that honour each child's unique learning style. This approach stems from a belief that every child has potential and the right to an education that they can access fairly. As a parent of a neurodiverse child I am acutely aware of the stress this can place on families. Embrace endeavours to offer services that reduce the complexity associated with navigating support services. We pride ourselves on a holistic model of care - from initial assessments and professional diagnosis support to tailored interventions and ongoing advocacy.
